There is in Sado a community of croaker roosters, commonly called dolphins, with about 28 elements, consisting of individuals of both sexes and of diverse ages that roam the estuary and the adjacent coastal zone, being frequently observed in small or large groups. The roaz, with the scientific name of "Tursiops truncatus", is relatively common along the Portuguese mainland coast, standing out the population that inhabits the Sado estuary, due to its unique character in the national territory, and one of the few European level. The roazes, which normally live between 40 and 50 years, have an average length of about 3 meters, gray color almost black in the dorsal area where a dorsal fin stands out, which is the fundamental element for the individual identification of each dolphin .
